Couples Counseling & Individual Therapy for Adults in Oregon
Video & Phone Based Sessions
Video & Phone Based Sessions
I am formally trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and individuals, Psychodynamic Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness approaches, Person Centered and Rogerian therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).
I am a graduate of Lewis and Clark’s Professional Mental Health Counseling Masters program where I also completed additional training in the clinical treatment of Grief & Loss, Human Sexuality, and Trauma.
Before starting my own practice I worked at an eating disorder treatment center and at a rural county mental health clinic for several years. I served on DBT, suicide intervention, and eating disorder teams, and I have worked with a vast diversity of clients and issues throughout these experiences.
I am a Health at Every Size provider
I welcome people of all identities and backgrounds to my practice
In individual work I use "Person Centered" or Rogerian, Attachment, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, and Acceptance and Commitment based therapies.
This means that I believe:
I am a "process" oriented therapist
This means that I do not believe long term successes or lasting solutions come from quick fixes. Instead, my focus is to help you deeply connect with yourself and to what is going on for you. I believe this is the way towards true healing and change.
Together we will pay close attention to the invaluable information that your emotions, patterns, attachments, and traumas provide. We will use this knowledge to help inform us on how to make the changes and accomplish the healing you're striving for.
My work is highly relational
It is not only important to me that I to listen to you, but also that I interact with you and engage with your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors throughout each session.
My hope is to create an environment in each session where secure, vulnerable communication and connection, to this process and to me, is possible for you. This is where the hard work begins, when you feel connected to and unconditionally supported by your therapist.
Throughout your time working with me you should expect to feel kind, engaging, genuine support and reflection. As well as collaborative, explorative guidance and planning.
Of course you wish to be genuinely, compassionately, and lovingly connected to your partner, but sharing life with another person has its way of bringing unique roadblocks to every relationship.
I work with couples who have difficulty communicating with one another, who feel that their needs are unmet, who feel disconnected to or unsupported by one another, who have experienced infidelity, sexual, or intimacy obstacles, and with couples who are struggling with confusing, shameful experiences they don't understand how to process or resolve together.
I am formally trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) based couples work. In EFT work we work to identify and change the patterns and blocks that stand in the way of the successful communication and connected partnership you wish to have.
$125 per 50 minute individual therapy session
$150 per 50 minute couples counseling session
I offer reduced rates for those who are on the "Oregon Health Plan" (or "Medicaid") and for those with financial barriers to accessing mental health care at this time
I do not accept insurance payment, however I am happy to provide a detailed receipt for your services referred to as a "Superbill" for you to submit to your insurance for "Out-Of-Network" coverage reimbursement, if that is a benefit that your insurance provides to you. I encourage you to connect with your insurance provider to confirm if you're eligible for these benefits.
